Project Lose Weight Part 5, 6 - I lost count - and some other stuff

So I haven't posted on here to update my exercise regime.

But most of you follow me on Instagram, and I've posted there, although boring posts, just a photo of my blurry legs or the screen of the treadmill or elliptical, it is keeping me accountable.

And then I went on vacation and gained 5 pounds and have not exercised in 2 weeks.

Back at it this week, mos def.

Yesterday, we took a bike ride on a semi new (mostly flat) trail near our house. Avery's helmet from last year did not fit so she had to wear mine, even though it was too big, I figured it would cut down on the judgey looks I would get from other parents I zoomed by. Because I thought it I rode fast enough, they wouldn't be able to see the helmet flopping around over her eyes. Notreallyjustkidding.

Our entire jaunt was 9 miles, and I could have probably ridden farther, but I wanted Ryan to want to ride with me again so we turned around at 4.5 miles. It was a beautiful day and just felt good to be outside in the sunshine.

Actually, our entire weekend was pretty nice and we were outside whenever we could be.

When we were inside, we went shopping with Gigi (Ryan's mom) and I organized Avery's closet (and my own) taking out all the clothes that 1. do not fit her anymore and 2. she will just never wear. I put all her clean clothes from vacation away and got it all organized to soothe my OCD.

Also, as I was going through my clothes, I found some dresses that I had not worn in years, and really, I forgot I had. It was a NSV (non-scale victory) for me to try them on and they fit! Hallelujah! On Saturday, when we were shopping with Gigi, we went into The Gap since they were having a sale and I bought the dress on right for $15 in a size smaller than I usually do. Double Hallelujah - one for the sale/$15 dress and one for a size smaller. This morning, I got dressed in my clothes I had set out the night before and I was little leary since I had not worn these pants in a while and horizontal stripes, need I say more? Low and behold, the pants went on with ease and when I cautiously checked myself in the mirror in our powder room before I headed out the door to work, I was shocked to not see the "normal" muffin top/spare tire bulge, especially since I am wearing a striped shirt sure to accentuate all flaws and insecurities. So I had to snap a picture just to be sure my eyes weren't deceiving me - and we all know our selfies are a true vision of how others really  see us. I wish. Or maybe I don't, because I have taken - and posted - some heinous looking selfies.

But anyway, I'll share this picture with you fine readers as I internally fight with myself to NOT post on IG.

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

"But wait a bit," the Oysters cried,
"Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!"
"No hurry!" said the Carpenter.
They thanked him much for that.

Yes, we did go on vacation and I plan to post a little about that and I have so many other things I want/need to write about, I am just having a hard time finishing an articulate thought - and making time for myself to write. It is always a little rough for me to get back into the daily routine after having time off and no schedule. Boo-hoo, poor me.

Happy Monday!

xoxo

HOORAY for a missing muffin top! You look awesome. Vacations are not kind to the waistline. Neither are weekends for that matter. I feel like I lose the same three pounds every week only to gain them back over the weekend.

I am so jealous of Avery's closet!

1st world problems - adjusting after vacation. :)

NSV are so awesome. I hate relying on the scale for happiness and it just makes the whole day better.

I'M SO JEALOUS of your weather. It's probably unhealthy how much.
